President Obama has twisted himself into a pretzel proselytizing vastly conflicting points in an effort to restrict domestic oil production, thereby maintaining the high cost of gasoline (“Obama’s gasoline excuse machine,” Comment & Analysis, March 20). Why? Because he wants the price to remain high.

Oil is the lifeblood of American prosperity, which is the very last thing Mr. Obama desires. His platform is radical and racial, and he is ideologically obsessed with punishing the greatness of an America he seems to hate and establishing his version of a communist state.

But of all the lies, demagoguery, propaganda and pure hogwash excuses the president uses for his war on a vibrant, thriving America that runs on oil (just try, as Rush Limbaugh suggests, getting a Boeing 747 in the air with solar panels), he ignores the fact that were we to open up virtually unlimited oil production in the United States, the price of gasoline would be nowhere near what it is today.
