I have to wonder at those in this country who believe that the “free” stuff they receive from the Obama-led government is really free.

Is it possible that the 48 percent of Americans who accept this “free” stuff from Washington can be so blinded by greed that they cannot see that when they no longer serve President Obama’s purpose, he will cast them aside as easily as he does the U.S. Constitution? In my opinion, Mr. Obama has embarked on a plan to ensure that idle Americans are just as addicted to federal funds as any drug addict is to an illegal substance. That’s a problem.

The “drug” - in this case, money to pay for free stuff - is gone. At some point, the withdrawal symptoms will start and the addicts will try to find free stuff by whatever means necessary. The results will be catastrophic and unavoidable, no matter who wins the White House in November.

Mr. Obama could begin seizing 401(k) accounts or nationalizing industry as a way of gathering the cash needed to pump the financial veins of these idle Americans full of federal heroin, but that cannot last, either. Even if Mitt Romney wins the White House and tries to stem the flow of federal money to these people, the result would be the same: withdrawal pain and chaos.

All the rest of us can do is brace ourselves for the coming storm and be prepared for the worst. This was bound to happen sooner or later, given the behavior of the politicians in Washington. We’ve been running from this situation since President Franklin D. Roosevelt started America down this road in the 1940s.

Luckily, there still are an equal number of Americans who have no intention of becoming victims of this vile political policy.
