One man died and two adults were injured Thursday evening in a three-car crash in Fairfax, police said.

Christopher Cobb, 54, was driving eastbound on Braddock Road when he crossed the median near Shirley Gate Road and struck a 38-year-old woman’s car. Her vehicle was then propelled into the path of, and struck by, a 57-year-old man’s car.

Mr. Cobb was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was airlifted to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, and the man was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

All three drivers were wearing their seat-belts, police said. Speed and alcohol do not seem to be factors. An investigation by Fairfax County Police is ongoing, spokesman Bud Walker said.
