A 38-year-old Silver Spring man was charged with first-degree murder after police say he stabbed a man multiple times on Tuesday during a dispute that escalated into a knife fight.
Hugo Rodriguez is being held without bond pending a court hearing on Thursday in Rockville, Montgomery County Police said.
Police said officers responded to a 13th Street apartment in Silver Spring and discovered Thomas Harvey suffering from stab wounds. Mr. Harvey, whose address has not been confirmed, died at a local hospital, police said.
According to police, multiple witnesses said Mr. Rodriguez fled the scene with a knife. Officers stopped Mr. Rodriguez on foot nearby and recovered the knife in a storm drain.
