A man who was killed early Sunday morning by being run over by a vehicle during an armed robbery was identified as 30-year-old Bradford A. McCoy while the driver is 28-year-old Solitta M. Jones, police said.
Just after midnight, three masked men approached a group of four men near a vehicle on the 1200 block of Oates Street to rob them and those inside the vehicle, Prince George’s County police spokesman Cpl. Clinton Copeland said. The men outside the vehicle were told to lie on the ground. Mr. McCoy, of Landover, laid in front of the vehicle, and Ms. Jones, apparently startled, ran over him.
The state attorney’s office will determine whether Ms. Jones will be charged in Mr. McCoy’s death, Cpl. Copeland said. The investigation into the robbery is ongoing and no one was charged by Monday evening.
