OPINION:
What has prompted the media to ignore the arrest of two individuals in the Hollywood arson cases while continuing to tout the arrest of a German immigrant (“Firefighters chase arson fires in Hollywood area,” Web, Dec. 30)?
It was reported Jan. 2 that Alejandro Pineta and Samuel Arrington were arrested and charged with arson in Hollywood. So why have the mainstream media essentially kept silent about these other two suspected arsonists while continuing to give front-page coverage to a German immigrant, even though he had travel papers from Chechnya?
Our media have been derelict in presenting the real news facts to their audience. It’s no wonder that many are left to form their own opinions and not rely on what is seen and heard in the media.
I believe there is much more to the stories of these two men than is being revealed. Will the real story ever come out? I certainly have my doubts.
