OPINION:
To the “occupiers” of America: Many of you have good heart, but you are protesting in the wrong place.
The people who got us into the shape we are in today are the lawmakers in Washington. There is no one to blame but them. They are the people who voted to spend and corrupt this wonderful country.
Think about it: Why are we in so much debt? Who voted to borrow money from China? Who votes to spend money on ridiculous projects? We should go to the homes of the people who have sold us out and protest in their streets. The morality of this country is in the sewer. We must stop voting on behalf of our pocketbooks and start voting for our country.
I’m a middle-class person who has worked all my life, hoping to have a modest retirement. It seems all I worked for all those years will be eaten up by rising fuel, food and health care costs, but our elected lawmakers go on as if nothing has happened. Have you heard them say they are cutting staff or are willing to take a cut in pay? Are any of them willing to drive a less expensive car? No.
We should impose term limits at once: two terms for all members of Congress. That would give them less time to line their pockets.
