A band teacher for Fairfax County public schools has been charged with the online solicitation of a child under 15, the Fairfax County Police Department said Monday.

Michael K. Cook, 43, of Centreville was arrested Wednesday, police said He works at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax. The alleged victim was not a student at the school or under Mr. Cook’s supervision, who also works with  Robinson’s marching band during football season, according the school’s website.

Mr. Cook reportedly has been placed on unpaid administrative leave.
