Two fatally shot overnight in D.C.

Two men were fatally shot in separate incidents in Northeast overnight, Metropolitan Police said Saturday.

Police said officers responded to the rear of the 1200 block of 18th Place in Northeast at about 11:25 p.m. Friday night and found Ervin Lamont Griffin, 32, of Southeast suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

At about 5:50 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 3700 block of Jay Street in Northeast. They found Junon Tyree Snead, 30, of Northeast, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said both incidents are under investigation.
