NEW YORK (AP) - Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has met with Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt about the team’s financial problems but won’t put a timetable on whether to approve the club’s proposed $3 billion television deal with Fox.

Baseball officials believe the Dodgers don’t have enough cash to make their end-of-May payroll, and McCourt has said the television deal would give the club needed cash _ about $300 million up front.

Selig says “Nobody is using the Dean Smith four-corner offense. We’re trying to move as fast as possible.”
