GILFORD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire’s Gunstock Mountain Resort might build a host of summer attractions as part of an effort to make the Belknap County-owned facility a multi-season resort.
John Morgenstern of the Gunstock Area Commission says officials are also considering building a hotel on the grounds of the resort.
Gunstock’s 2011 master plan includes a hotel as well as expansion of the base lodge, additional ski terrain and general improvements and upgrades, all geared toward making Gunstock a “multi-season” resort.
On Tuesday the commission decided to move forward with $2.1 million worth of new summer attractions, including a treetop adventure park, a zip line and scenic rides to the summit.
The Laconia Citizen says the summer attractions are expected to generate more than $600,000 in annual income.
