RICHMOND, VA. (AP) - Jazz Hill scored 18 points and Jessica Henley had 17 and 11 rebounds Friday, leading J.I. Burton to a 65-54 victory against Sussex Central and its first Virginia High School League Group A, Division 1 girls state basketball championship.

Iris Hill added 16 points and hit four 3-pointers for the Raiders (25-5), who led by three at halftime and expanded their margin to double digits in the third quarter.

J.I. Burton won a year after losing in the championship game to Surry County.



Jasmine Deloatch led Sussex Central (18-4) with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Tatayana Calhoun added 12 points and 12 rebounds and LiBria Jackson grabbed 11 rebounds, but the Tigers made only 21 of 71 field goal attempts _ or less than 30 percent _ and still were outrebounded 51-42.
