Mitchell & Best Homebuilders is building eight single-family homes on 1-acre sites at Walnut Grove in Clarksville, a community with expansive open space near the River Hill Village shopping center, the Mall in Columbia, Savage Mill and Historic Ellicott City.

Each home in this Howard County community will include a brick base on four sides; a brick, stone or siding exterior; 30-year asphalt roof shingles; and a two- or three-car garage.

Inside, all six models feature four bedrooms; 3½ or 4½ baths; hardwood flooring in the foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen, breakfast area and family foyer; 9- or 10-foot ceilings on the main and upper levels; crown and chair-rail molding; a gas fireplace; 42-inch cabinets, granite counters and stainless steel appliances in the center-island kitchen; ceramic tile flooring in the baths and laundry room; a security system; a rough-in for a lower-level bath; and gas heat and hot water.

The homes have approximately 3,959 to 5,695 finished square feet, with base prices from $939,900 to $1,099,900. Homeowner association fees are $500 per year.

The Eagle’s Nest model, with 5,695 square feet, is priced from $1,099,900. This home features a two-story foyer flanked by a library and a formal living room. Columns define the entrance from the living room to the formal dining room.

At the back of this level are the kitchen and breakfast area with bay windows, a gallery with French doors to the porch, and a family room with walls of windows and a tray ceiling.

This level also has a laundry room, a powder room and a family entrance.

Upstairs, the master suite has a separate sitting room, a private balcony, bay windows, a tray ceiling, two walk-in closets and a luxury bath. Four more bedrooms, three additional baths and a computer loft complete this level.
