Many things need to be done in the federal government and done now.

First, we must stop doing business with corporations that send their jobs overseas. These firms abuse people of other countries with low wages, and they do this to put more money in their own pockets without regard for people - especially the American people. This is something that should be obvious to those claiming to be representatives of a government “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” Those who refuse to do this are instead of the corporation, by the corporation and for the corporation.

Second, we need to bring home our troops still in Europe. Those troops need to be stationed instead along our northern and southern borders to protect the American people from illegal activities. Stopping the flow of illegal drugs into our society should be a priority, as drugs badly affect all walks of life.

Third, let’s put money into the local economies instead of foreign economies. New bases would spring up and communities near existing bases would benefit also. Let Europe take care of Europe.

America was once strong and proud, like a house built on a rock. Now we resemble one built on sand - and we are sinking slowly.

Decades of the same old policies have put us where we are today and they do not appear to be changing. I hope our congressional leaders will prove me wrong in this regard. But they must remember that time is not on their side.
