OPINION:
Islam is a religion that was spread by violence and has yet to transform into an organization guiding its believers toward peace, decency and love for their fellow man.
It is still stuck in the past and will not move ahead until it realizes it is 700 years behind the times. Islam must purge its radical strains of advocacy for violence, suppression of free thought, demeaning of women and endorsement of honor killing of family members who stray from chauvinism masquerading as religion.
In the Judeo-Christian faith, life is precious while the radical clergy in Islam do not endorse the sanctity of life. They believe the lives of others are to be sacrificed for their benefit, power and position. Their misguided beliefs are contrary to any notion of a loving or kind God.
