RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia Commonwealth University’s dental school will offer free services to uninsured and disadvantaged children this week as part of the national Give Kids a Smile Day.

The School of Dentistry’s Pediatric Dental Clinic will hold the event on Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dental professionals will provide examinations, cleanings, X-rays, fillings and extractions for patients 15 years old and younger. The American Dental Association created Give Kids a Smile Day to provide education and oral health care to children from low-income families.
