SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - THE APPS: On an iPhone, Instagram is a free camera and social app that makes it quick and simple to share photos with friends. On an Android smart phone, Vignette is somewhat pricey (about $4), but gives you plenty of camera, film and lens effects that will jazz up images.
NO SMART PHONE NEEDED: If your cell phone has a camera, you can add special effects to photos with an inexpensive device called the Jelly Lens. This little plastic filter sticks on to the lens of any small camera, and comes with a single effect like “wide angle” or “kaleidoscope.”
