OPINION:
I live in New York City, the liberal capital of America, and can attest to the fact that government doesn’t work.
Why should one expect that “poverty funds,” just like any other funds, will, in fact, be used by politicians for the purposes for which they were intended? We are a nation in such steep decline that the next catastrophe could well be the death knell.
I’m a retired senior living on a fixed income and frankly, I am waiting for the day that the money runs out and I, along with many millions of others, am thrown out of my own house for failure to pay taxes. Why? I will not have been able to afford to pay them, let alone help others. It’s not a question of if but rather when the ball will drop, as it has for so many millions already.
I have three grandchildren and don’t want to even contemplate what their adulthoods will look like. I can only trust in God and His wisdom and judgment. I can certainly not trust the words of some politician sitting on high street.
