Authorities found 12 pounds of heroin worth $375,000 in a suitcase at Washington Dulles International Airport.
Customers and Border Protection officers at Dulles Airport found the heroin Dec. 3 in the lining of a suitcase owned by Sana Musa Sulemana, 61, of Ghana.
A CBP spokesman said that officers found the narcotic during a secondary inspection of Mr. Sulemana’s suitcase.
The lining “appeared to have been tampered,” the spokesman said, and beneath it officers found a package that contained “a brown, powdery substance” that tested positive for heroin.
