Prince George’s County police discovered a man’s body in the trunk of a burning car Wednesday morning in Fairmont Heights.
A car fire was reported at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday by a resident in the 5600 block of Jefferson Heights Drive, police said. When officials responded, they found the body of a man inside the trunk of the four-door passenger car.
Police are waiting for autopsy results to determine whether the man was killed prior to the fire and have not officially ruled the death a homicide, though it will likely be classified as such, spokesman Cpl. Henry Tippett said.
The man has not been identified.
