Hurricane Irene postpones Timbers-United game

NEW YORK (AP) - The MLS game between the Portland Timbers and D.C. United on Saturday has been postponed because of Hurricane Irene.

The teams were to have played at RFK Stadium at 2 p.m. A makeup date will be announced next week.

The Timbers have made arrangements to return to Portland on Friday.
