OPINION:
When was the last time you hired a contractor to perform a task for you? Perhaps it was for the remodeling of your bathroom or maybe the building of an addition. In all such cases, an agreement was drawn up and signed. We all demand this when redoing our homes, so why don’t we demand the same of our government?
We need a contractual agreement between us and the people we elect to run our lives.
And make no mistake, running our lives is exactly what they’re doing. We listen patiently as they tell us that they’re going to fix the economy, going to reduce spending and make America a veritable Disney World of economic success. Then, when they win America’s greatest lottery, they apparently forget every promise they made - or they fail to tell us that the fundamental change they’re going to make is the change from a free America to one of socialism and complete government control.
Isn’t it past time that we see something in writing from presidential candidates? They, too, should be subject to our justice system whenever they disregard our Constitution or fail to fulfill - or even attempt to fulfill - the promises they make to the American people.
