WASHINGTON (AP) — D.C. police have arrested a man on charges of first-degree murder in connection with a shooting and accident that killed a person in northwest Washington.
D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier says 21-year-old Brandon Miller was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and will likely be arraigned Wednesday.
Police are still looking for at least one other person and seeking information from anyone who may have seen a 2001 white Buick with D.C. tags around the time of the shooting and a subsequent car crash.
Twenty-one-year-old Jamal Coates died Tuesday. It’s not clear if Coates was shot to death or died as a result of the crash.
Officials said another person who was taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds is now listed in good condition.
