AUSTIN, TEXAS (AP) - Texas sophomore Cokie Reed will miss the upcoming season after surgery on her right foot to remove an extra bone and repair a tendon.

Reed played in 33 games last season and was named to the Big 12 all-freshman team after averaging 8.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in league games.

Team trainer Tina Bonci said Tuesday that Reed had the surgery on Oct. 1.
