SAN FRANCISCO | A federal judge has sentenced former San Francisco 49ers star Dana Stubblefield to 90 days in jail for stealing his ex-girlfriend’s mail.

Stubblefield was placed on probation last year after pleading guilty to lying to investigators about his steroid use during his playing days. Earlier this year, he admitted to submitting a change of address form so his ex-girlfriend’s mail, including her unemployment checks, would be delivered to his residence.

The 40-year-old Stubblefield was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Susan Illston in San Francisco Thursday.

Stubblefield was a defensive lineman for the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders from 1993 to 2003.
