OPINION:
Since President Obama and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, have both signaled that the Bush tax cuts should be extended for everyone, include as a condition that tax credits are reimbursable only if and when those benefiting can prove that they have generated new, private, full-time American jobs at a cost not to exceed $25,000 per job. That requirement must come with independent review and approval.
This is a compromise with promise that makes Republicans, Democrats and benefiting recipients work together to restore our economy in a fiscally responsible manner.
