NEWTON, IOWA (AP) - Technical difficulties with the timing system at Iowa Speedway have forced officials there to cancel three upcoming drag racing events.
The three events were to take place Aug. 8, Aug. 22 and Sept. 12. Director of operations Gale Nungesser says the portable timing system for drag races has had a lot of wear and tear over the years.
The equipment is scheduled to be repaired in time for the final drag racing date on the 2010 schedule on Sept. 19.
