OPINION:
I applaud commentator Glenn Beck for calling on America to “turn back to God” (“Mall rally sends message of anti-Washington unrest,” Politics, Monday). The way current laws are progressing - or rather regressing - speaking in defense of life and the rights of families is becoming sort of a crime against the state.
In this new dark age, the intimate link between freedom and truth has been obscured in the minds and hearts of some, eclipsed in the minds and hearts of others. The nihilistic results are clear for all to see: abortion, contraception, homosexuality, same-sex “marriage,” divorce and embryonic stem-cell research. Ultimately, we need to insist that the existence of God and the dignity of every human being are the logical dictates of reason and natural law. Let us be up and on our way.
