PHOENIX | Washington Nationals rookie phenom Stephen Strasburg threw a bullpen session before Tuesday night’s game with Arizona, and is scheduled to throw a simulated game on Thursday. Strasburg has been on the 15-day disabled list since last Thursday with stiffness in his right shoulder. He is scheduled to take Wednesday and Friday off from throwing, then will toss a simulated game in Los Angeles on Saturday. “If all those things fall into place, he’ll be on schedule to pitch on Tuesday,” manager Jim Riggleman said, meaning Strasburg would come off the disabled list next Tuesday to face Florida at home. Strasburg (5-2, 2.32 ERA) is on the DL retroactive to July 22.
