Pioneer dancer and choreographer Martha Graham once said that “dance is the hidden language of the soul,” and in these tumultuous times, people are searching for a greater sense of peace and direction. That is partly why the D.C. chapter of Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization recently held Dancing for Peace at the Reflecting Pool in Washington. Several dance troupes participated. Brahma Kumaris is an international group that encourages people of all backgrounds to spread peace, encourage self-empowerment and inspire compassion for humanity. The peaceful dance event was held June 13 near the Capitol.
