June 2: Courtney’s House
Courtney’s House is committed to providing a safe space and loving home environment in a therapeutic and emotionally healing atmosphere for girls 11 to 17 years of age caught in domestic sex trafficking. Courtneys House is dedicated to ending domestic sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation of all children. It focuses efforts on providing long-term shelter and increasing public awareness about this problem.
June 9: Islamic Relief USA
Islamic Relief strives to alleviate suffering, hunger, illiteracy and diseases worldwide without regard to color, race or creed and to provide aid in a compassionate and dignified manner. It aims to provide rapid relief in the event of man-made or natural disasters. In addition, it establishes development projects in needy areas to help tackle poverty, illiteracy and disease at a local level.
June 16: Computer C.O.R.E.
Computer C.O.R.E. promotes the realization of better opportunities through basic computer-skills training. C.O.R.E.’s program is offered to unemployed and underemployed adults in Northern Virginia who have little or no experience with computers.
