For 15 civilian visitors at the Pentagon on Tuesday, life will never be the same.

Under a warm summer sun, they took the oath to enlist in the Army, joining 16 soldiers who re-enlisted during the same ceremony.

Army Chief of Staff Gen. George W. Casey Jr. and Army Secretary Pete Geren presided over the ceremony, which marked the 35th anniversary of the end of the draft and the beginning of the all-volunteer armed services.
