Consort concert

Free music and festivals abound this summer in Washington, and the Washington National Cathedral (3101 Wisconsin Ave. NW) is in on the action. Tonight’s concert will feature contemporary music from the 21st Century Consort, a group of prominent musicians that includes principal players from the National Symphony Orchestra. The acclaimed ensemble will perform a program titled “Troping the Light Fantastic,” at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Call 202/ 537-6200 or visit www.cathedral.org.
