This undated photo provided by the journal Nature shows two views of an upper molar tooth found in a Siberian cave from a recently discovered relative of humans that lived more than 30,000 years ago. DNA revealed that this creature is more closely related to Neanderthals than to modern humans. That indicates that both this creature and Neanderthals sprang from a common ancestor on a different branch of the evolutionary family tree than the one leading to modern humans.
