The IWI (former IMI) Tavor TAR-21 is an Israeli assault rifle designed to be more effective in urban combat than the M16 series but still be able to be as effective at a range as the M16. In order to accomplish this, the rifle utilizes a bullpup design that shortens the weapon by 300mm in the standard models.

A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
