13. Pete Rose (1963-1986) batted .303 with 4,256 hits. He left the game as its all-time leader in hits. He won three National League batting titles before being banned from baseball. Rose is the best player to not be in the Hall of Fame

A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
