Wheaton Regional Park - This isn't any average day in the park. Take a 10 mile trip out of the busy city to have a fun day at Wheaton Regional Park in Wheaton, Maryland. The kids can take a ride on a mini replica of an 1863 train, ride the carousel, go fishing, play on the playground and have a picnic. Tickets are $2 each and are good for one ride on either the train or the carousel. There are also hiking trails, an ice rink, tennis courts, baseball fields and basketball courts for the kids that love sports. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
