
The NCAA said Wednesday that it has been investigating the relationship between convicted Ponzi scheme artist Nevin Shapiro and the University of Miami for five months, and the allegations - if true - show the need for "serious and fundamental change" in college sports. A person familiar with the situation said much of Shapiro's access to Hurricane programs in recent years was approved by former athletic director Kirby Hocutt, who has since left the school for Texas Tech. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
