Marine Barracks Evening Parade – To experience all the fanfare and excitement of the United States Marine Corps Band, make a visit to the Marine Barracks near Capitol Hill for a weekly 75-minute performance under the stars. Witness one of America's greatest military traditions while learning about the history of the marching practice. Admission is free, but be sure to reserve ahead of time in order to have a guaranteed seat as room tends to fill up quickly. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
