Brady Williams, a cornerback at Little Miami High School whose father is a police officer, and Jared Bentley, a linebacker at the school whose dad is a firefighter, carried a Thin Blue Line flag and a Thin Red Line flag, respectively, in commemoration of the police officers and firefighters who died in September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
