People in Kazakhstan have posted more than 1,500 images of bad parking on city streets on the website oselparking.kz, including SUVs parked snugly in the middle of narrow streets or left on sidewalks, saloons stretched out to block in three parked cars at once, and a stretch limousine jutting out across an entire lane of traffic. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
