German media are reporting that tenor Peter Hofmann has died at 66 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. The Rheinische Post newspaper quoted brother Fritz Hofmann saying he died early Tuesday Nov. 30, 2010  at a hospital in Wunsiedel in Bavaria. Hofmann was famous for his performances as tenor at the annual Bayreuth festival celebrating the music of Richard Wagner.
