St. Louis County police officers had to perform the duty of ushers at the St. Louis County Council meeting on Tuesday evening, Sept. 16, 2014, in Clayton, once the public seating chamber was nearly full. Officers were allowing late arrivals in to the meeting only when they found an empty seat or someone left the meeting. The room has a maximum capacity of 270 people due to fire codes. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
