Located in Atlanta, Georgia, next to the Freedom Parkway, Jimmy Carter's Library hosts a wealth of material related to his life and presidency. The Library and Museum were dedicated in 1986. The most notable exhibit on display is probably the former president's Nobel Peace Prize, awarded in 2002 for his work with the Carter Center in “advancing human rights and alleviating human suffering.” The Carter Center office is also located alongside the library premises.

A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
