Oregon’s high desert – Bighorn Sheep - Bighorn sheep are one of the rarest game mammals and thought to be one of the most expensive game of all. Oregon’s bighorn sheep hunts are a once in a life time tag. The odds of drawing are very slim, with some applying year after year with no luck. Guides often use horses and mules to get you in and out of the rough sheep country and hunters need to be in decent physical condition. River area hunts also offer transportation by raft. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife captured and relocated California bighorn sheep at several locations in 2014 to improve genetic diversity among herds. The population of bighorn sheep has grown to an estimated 3,500-3,700 as a result of ODFW’s aggressive restoration efforts.

Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
