Balboa Park is an urban cultural park located in San Diego, California. The park was named after Spanish maritime explorer Vasco Nunez de Balboa, and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977. In addition to its open space areas, natural vegetation zones, gardens, and winding paths, it contains museums, several theaters, and the San Diego Zoo.
