Phil Custodio, 44 of Flint, MI dressed as Batman was one of 237 people that joined Awesome Con D.C. and the Museum of Science Fiction attempt to break a world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as comic book characters at the U.S. Capitol Reflecting Pool on Friday, April 18. The current record holder is China; which stands at 1,530 people, set on April 19, 2011 at the opening ceremony of the International Animation CCJOY LAND. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
