George W. Bush's Scottish terrier, Barney, was the White House pet dog for eight years. He used to chase golf balls on the green at Camp David and guard the South Lawn to the White House like a Secret Service agent, according to a statement Bush gave on Barney's passing in 2013.

A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
