In this Wednesday, April 22, 2020 photo, Bobby Daniel, 65, who is currently homeless, pauses for a picture at a hotel in Los Angeles. Daniel, who used to live in his car, said he knew the pandemic was a big deal when cafes shut down and he could no longer linger over an espresso, working on his laptop. He bought a scarce lavender hand sanitizer at Whole Foods and used it up fast. He was bowled over when he got into a Los Angeles hotel room after years trying to get indoors. At one of two hotels run by St. Joseph Center, he has water and soap to tend to his ear, where doctors recently excised a growth. Daniel is free to leave the hotel to exercise, which he needs to strengthen lungs damaged by disease. (AP Photo/Damian Dovarganes)
