In a Friday, Dec. 7, 2019 photo, Rebecca Lear, a city floodplain manager, looks at her tattoo done by Kenny Brown, in honor of the friends and coworkers who died during the mass shooting at the Municipal Center, during the Healing Ink event in Virginia Beach. During the shooting, Lear discovered an injured colleague and stayed with him until law enforcement could rescue them. Lear's tattoo depicts a dove carrying an olive branch with 12 leaves to honor each of the lives lost, the date of the shooting, and "Psalm 23" written at the top. Her tattoo has ties to the bible and symbolizes peace and hope moving forward. (Sarah Holm/The Virginian-Pilot via AP)
